ENVY THAT LEADS TO DESTRUCTION
Parul Sehgal begins explaining a story of how when she was younger, she envied a little girl that was new to the class. Jealousy corrupted her, which made her not like the girl and envy her. The little girl had a nice pouch, good grades, and was really good at spelling. Parul as she explained, went into the grades and changed her grades to bad ones. She never got caught and as she was doing it she felt good. Later on in the ted talk, she explains how jealousy causes people to do violent things and make up a lot of things, as if they were novelist. In The Crucible, Abigail was jealous of Elizabeth, since she was Proctor's wife. Abigail had desire for Proctor's love, and she would do anything to call him hers. She made up a lot of false accusations and did violent actions which affected everyone in Salem. Abigail attempted to create her own fiction story all because she wanted Proctor's love, but she couldn't have it. Her envy and jealousy led to nothing but destruction and tragedy in Salem.
